The Alaqsite'w Gitpu School was honoured to receive a bald eagle this morning from community member Ryan Wysote. This young eagle was found along the shores of Miguasha. Miss Karen's class gathered with Chris and Ryan to offer thanks to the eagle and respectfully welcome it to our school. Students also received teachings about the eagle and how it represents Love, one of our seven sacred teachings. We are grateful to learn and reflect on these important teachings together. We

The Alaqsite'w Gitpu School is hosting a bottle drive in these days leading up to Earth Day, April 22nd. The class with the most bottles collected will win a pizza party generously donated by Mr. Chad. Bottles only. No cans, please. Let's work together to keep our planet and community clean. This Earth Day, we want to hear our students' ideas on how to make AGS a greener school. How can we reduce our waste? Improve our recycling efforts? Use energy more sustainably? Each class is invited to create a one-page proposal by Earth Day, April 22nd, and submit it to Ms. Joanna.

Please be advised that AGS staff and students will be dismissed early on Friday, April 17th, to allow our staff members to attend the Celebration of Life for Dylan Alasuinu Barnaby. The Alaqsite'w Gitpu School has rescheduled Siggw Culture Day to Friday, April 10th. The community is welcome to join us in the gym at 10:00 a.m. to cheer on our dancers and drummers.

We're taking Graduation photos this Thursday, March 19, 2026 for Nursery and Grade 8. This is the only time available for photos, and there will be no retakes. All attire is provided, cap, gown, shirts, etc.
